An important part of the great commission is teaching new believers and grounding them in the Word of God. Discipleship is crucial to a young believer’s new walk with Christ. They must be firmly rooted in order to produce fruit that will last for all eternity. It is our desire that every believer be able to have the opportunity to grow in a basic foundational discipleship course. We use Rooted in Christ, a course our former pastor put together, to help fulfill this great need. Its two volumes take about 3 months to work through on a weekly schedule. This is usually taught in small group sessions, either at church or in someone’s home, but can be done individually or even in a homeschool. Topics such as Eternal Security, God’s Book for God’s People, Walking with God, The Church, Worship, Spiritual Warfare, Spiritual Gifts, and Evangelism are covered using the Bible as the primary textbook. Discipleship is an exciting ministry! There is nothing more exciting than watching a person grow in his/her relationship with the Lord!!
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:
Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith,
as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
